Passports and Visas for International Travel
International travel usually requires the presentation of visas, passports
and other credentials. International flights often have special check in and
customs procedures. Having the appropriate documentation and arriving early
for check-in will help reduce the stress associated with travel to
international destinations.
International Documentation
Proper documentation is a required for entry into foreign countries. Contact
the
airline reservation office and or the
cembassy,
consulate or diplomatic mission of the country you are
visiting for information on passport, visa and or health requirements. In
addition, please have your country of citizenship and your complete
itinerary readily available.
For U.S. passport requirements, application forms, where to conveniently
apply, and a wealth of other passport and international travel information,
visit the U.S. Department of State's Passport Services, at
http://www.travel.state.gov.
Planning ahead can help you avoid unnecessary hassles at check in.
International Documentation
Arrive early for international flights. International destinations have
recommended check-in times to ensure you make your flight. If you check-in
later than these times, your reservations and advance seat assignments are
subject to cancellation, and you may not be eligible for denied boarding
compensation.
It's always a good idea to contact the
airline reservation office for check
in time requirements.
